Send Me On My Way

I was one year into my existence on earth when a great band, Rusted Root, created a song that would forever serve as a constant upon the soundtrack of my life. I suggest while you are reading this post, to play it in the background. I stand a firm believer that music can enhance any situation.

I am creating this blog to establish a place where you (whether friends, family, or the like) can keep updated with my life while abroad. I am traveling to NYC, Stockholm, and Venice with stop-overs in London, Switzerland and Austria. (Possible side trips to Pompeii and Copenhagen). This can be a place to report on daily occurrences, purge any creative thought or experiences, and the occasional illustration or sketch. This collection of pieces of ideas from my own mind might seem incomprehensible at times. Compared side by side these smatterings might carry no relevance to one another, but as a group they will make sense.

In 36 hours from now I will be on a plane, on my way to New York City. It sounds like a dream, and I feel stupid for feeling this way. Mostly because it is just a city. Everything about New York has been romanticized in films and pop culture. So many times we have heard the name, and we have created this image of what this place could possibly be like. Everyone's versions are different, so it will be interesting to see what my perspective will be once I am there.

Leaving feels strange, but it is also such a normal thing for me to be doing. It seems that I have already been to these places or experienced them in some strange aspect that I am unconscious of. It is all incredibly natural, like I was always supposed to be there.
